Bringing Farm Fresh to Campus
July 15, 2019
There’s nothing better than having farm fresh produce, but as a student it can be difficult to find the time and place to purchase it, especially if you live on campus. Until now! Every Wednesday in November from 2:30-5:30, Mason Dining is hosting a Farmer’s Market. Conveniently located on the first floor of the Johnson Center in the old PrintHUB, the farmer’s market provides quality produce straight from Whitehall Farms. Oh, and did we mention you can pay with Bonus Funds, Mason Money, and Freedom?
At the Mason Dining Farmer’s Market, you can purchase every part of a balanced meal. Veggies, fruits, meats, snacks, cider, and even miniature pumpkins can be found here. There is even a selection of homemade soap bars.
Whitehall Farms is located about 10 minutes from campus, in Clifton, VA. They pride themselves in their sustainable farming practices and purchasing locally from other small businesses to stock their market. If you shop at the campus farmer’s market, not only will you be supporting a small, family-owned business, but you will also be able to know exactly where your food comes from.
