Food Allergies
We take pride in sourcing wholesome ingredients, preparing recipes accurately and providing nutritional analysis and ingredient statements through our online menus and nutrition calculator. We are all passionate about serving students. From general managers to front line servers, we work diligently to address students’ specific needs, especially those with food allergies, Celiac disease, or special diet needs.

A team approach led by you, our educated consumer, is the best preparation for a safe school year free of allergic reactions. We want to meet one-on-one with all of our customers who have individual dining needs to ensure that your dining experience is safe, delicious, and social. Allergen Friendly Options in Resident Dining
Simple Servings
Simple Servings is our allergen-safe, dining option for our customers with food allergies or gluten intolerance. This station offers food free from peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, eggs, sesame, and gluten-containing ingredients. Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contact with food allergens.
Separate equipment, storage areas, utensils and preparation areas minimize, but do not totally eliminate, the chances of gluten and allergens in our Simple Servings foods. 75% of Simple Servings items also meet our Mindful criteria, which makes it an easy and healthy choice for customers who are focused on ingredients and portion size to control weight, blood sugar and other health issues.
Simple Zone
Simple Zone is our campus “pantry” where food items needed by students with celiac disease or food allergies can be housed with precautions against cross-contact. This special area is free of gluten-containing ingredients, as well as tree nuts and peanuts. Simple Zone gives students the ability to be involved in their own allergen-safe meal preparation.

Allergen Friendly Options in Retail
The Difference Baker
The Difference Baker is certifed free from: gluten, peanut, tree nut, soy, fish, sesame, and crustacean. Although products containing milk and egg are available, they also have products that are free from the top 9. They take special precautions to ensure the safety of these products and avoid cross-contact. They also wipe down the inside of Starship Robots prior to deliveries.
On-Campus Convenience Stores
Our on-campus convenience stores, Express & One Stop, carry The Difference Baker products and other specialty allergen-safe products. Grab a safe, quick snack between classes!
