Fall 2025 & Spring 2026
The options are endless when it comes to meal plans! Enjoy four different dining halls which serve delicious meals on a rotating menu. Plans are available for on and off-campus students, faculty, and staff, and are administered by the Mason Card office.

- Independence Plans: Unlimited access to dining halls, one swipe per day at The Eaterie, and three guest swipes per semester. Great for students living on-campus without a full kitchen.
- Liberty Plans: Weekly number of dining hall swipes, with the option to use the plan once a day at The Eaterie. Great for students living on-campus without a full kitchen.
- Patriot Plans: A fixed number of meals to be used at dining halls, with the option to use the plan once a day at The Eaterie. Great for students living on campus with a full kitchen or for any off-campus students.
- Dining Dollars Plan: Dollar-for-dollar purchasing power in most locations on all three campuses. Great for students living on campus with a full kitchen or any off-campus students.
- Byte Plans: A fixed number of meals to be used at dining halls, with the option to use the plan once a day at The Eaterie. These plans are exclusively for faculty and staff.
Note: All meal plans are for personal use only. Dining Dollars can be used for guests (family/friend). Independence plan holders are provided with three guest meals per semester. Meal swipes do not roll over and must be used within the semester they are purchased for. Remaining Dining Dollars balance will rollover into Spring semester as a courtesy, but they become non-refundable at the end of Spring Semester.
On Campus Student without a Full Kitchen
Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 Meal Plan Prices
Freshmen and sophomores living on campus without a full kitchen in their living space are required to select an Independence Plan. All other students living on campus without a full kitchen in their living space are required to have either an Independence or Liberty Plan.
INDEPENDENCE MEAL PLAN
This plan offers healthy options and unlimited access to the dining halls. Enjoy three guest meals per semester and Dining Dollars. These plans can be accessed using your Mason ID. This plan is required for freshmen and sophomores living on campus.
Independence 100 Plan
- Semester Base Price: $2,925 + $100 Dining Dollars = $3,025

Swipes:
Swipes are what grant access to the dining halls through your Mason ID. Meal swipes do not roll over and must be used within the semester they are purchased for.
Dining Dollars:
Dining Dollars offer dollar-for-dollar, tax-exempt purchasing power in most dining venues. The funds can be increased by upgrading to the next $100 increment. Remaining balances from the fall semester will roll over to the spring semester. Dining Dollars must be used by the end of the spring semester. Dining Dollars $100 is the default selection and will be assigned if no amount is specified. Dining Dollars options: $100 $200 $350 $500.*

Remaining Dining Dollars balance will rollover into Spring semester as a courtesy, but they become non-refundable at the end of Spring Semester.

Liberty Plan includes a designated amount of meal swipes per week to be used at all dining halls, plus a fixed amount of Dining Dollars that can be used at most dining venues. These two components together determine the total semester price.

On Campus Student with a Full Kitchen

Students living on campus with a full kitchen in their residence (Liberty Square, Northern Neck, Potomac Heights, Rogers, Townhouses) are not required to purchase a meal plan, however, students still have the option to choose from all four meal plans offered.

Dining Dollar Plans offer dollar-for-dollar tax-exempt purchasing power in most dining venues. Students will receive a $2.00 discount off the door price at each of the three dining halls. The Dining Dollars are available approximately one week prior to the first day of class and active throughout the entire semester. Remaining balances will roll over from fall to spring. All funds must be used by the end of the spring semester.*

Dining Dollar Plans and Patriot Plans are perfect for students living off campus. These meal plans are billed to the student account and offer tax-exempt dining. Off-campus students are also welcome to purchase either an Independence or Liberty Plan.
DINING DOLLAR PLANS
